Uveitis Fellowships
Olivia’s Vision appointed two new Fellows in 2014. They are being trained in rotation under Professor Dick at Bristol Hospital, and Professor Murray at Birmingham Hospital.
Olivia’s Vision raises funds to help as many uveitis sufferers as possible. Together with the Medical Advisory Board, the decision was made to direct funds towards the training of uveitis specialists, thus giving patients faster access to uveitis experts in the future.
The Fellowships aim to increase the number of specialists in Intraocular Inflammatory Disease. This will expand the care for patients with uveitis, where there are too many patients and too few specialists.
The extent of training our Fellows are receiving under such eminent uveitis experts, is unavailable anywhere else in the UK.
Having raised so far over £250,000, the first sponsored Olivia’s Vision Fellowship will commence in 2012. The charity’s short-term aim is to sponsor one Fellowship annually.
